![]() ![]() The iX finished up with an average consumption rating of 3.25 miles per kWh (19 kWh/100km) which is excellent for such a large, heavy SUV. All versions of the iX have a 111.5 kWh battery (total capacity) with 105.2 kWh being the usable capacity. It blew by the EPA combined range rating of 324 miles and kept going until the trip gauge read 345. The 2022 BMW iX xDrive50 performed exceptionally well in our 70 mph range test. That's very good considering the EQS is such a large and heavy sedan, and very few of the vehicles we've tested have done better than that. ![]() However, we cruised past its EPA range rating for another 45 miles and finished up with 395 miles on the trip meter and our journey recorded an impressive consumption rate of 3.67 mi/kWh. The rear-wheel-drive version of the EQS (the AWD version is the EQS 580 4MATIC) has an EPA range rating of 350 miles and is one of the longest-range EVs available today.
